Superintendent Lone Finalist
We are excited to share that the BISD Board of Trustees has selected a finalist for the position of Superintendent. The Board has unanimously selected Dr. Tanya Tate to lead the district.
Dr. Tate currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent in Lytle ISD. She began her career in education in 1996 as a classroom teacher and has since held a variety of leadership roles, including assistant principal, principal, and director of curriculum.
She brings a strong background in instructional leadership, resource management, CCMR/CTE, budgeting, bond and construction oversight, assessment and accountability, and board governance. Her depth of experience and commitment to student success make her an excellent choice to lead our district.
There is a mandatory 21-day waiting period before the Board can officially hire her. Therefore, the Board will hold a special meeting on May 6 to take formal action on her employment. She will be a great fit for BISD, and we look forward to the positive impact she will have on our students, staff, and community.
