BLANCO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

Blanco ISD is rooted in a rich tradition of educational excellence and community pride, dating back to 1883. Nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, our district has a long-standing history of academic achievement, strong values, and deep community involvement. Generations of families have called Blanco ISD home, creating a legacy of support, school spirit, and a commitment to student success. • Inclement Weather Procedures: Weather in Texas can be unpredictable and bring conditions that may impact our community, causing school closures. The superintendent may close schools due to severe weather or emergencies that might pose safety concerns. If a weather or emergency situation causes a delayed school start, early dismissal or closure of schools, Blanco ISD will notify parents and staff using ParentSquare. Information will also be communicated through the BISD social media accounts. Austin and San Antonio news stations are also provided with information to share during their broadcasts.

  • TIA was established with the goal of providing outstanding teachers an accessible pathway to a six-figure salary. Unlike previous education programs, the Teacher Incentive Allotment is not a grant. Through approved local designation systems, districts can identify and designate outstanding teachers based on student growth and classroom observation. Employing designated teachers generates extra funding for districts to reward top performers.
