Reduced-price-eligible students will get free breakfast and lunch during the 2025–26 and
2026–27 school years. This change comes from funding approved by the 89th Texas Legislature.
Breakfast: Already free for reduced-price students — no changes needed.
Lunch: Starting September 1, 2025, reduced-price students will also receive lunch at no
cost.

BISD Charging Policy
💲Charging Policy
As established by the Board (CO-LOCAL), a student with an exhausted or insufficient balance on his or her meal card or meal account shall be allowed to continue to purchase up to four meals total.
- Meal Charges: Students may charge up to 4 meals total with insufficient funds.
- Alternative Meals: An alternative meal will be served starting on the 5th meal until the balance is updated.
