Blanco All Sports Booster Club Scholarship

Criteria:

1. Parents/Guardians MUST be members of the BASBC for both their student’s Junior and Senior years. Membership forms must be turned in by December 5th each year.

2.  Applicants must have participated in at least one sport, cheerleading, or athletic training at Blanco High School during BOTH their Junior and Senior years. A student does not meet eligibility requirements if he or she quits the sport.

3.  A Parent/Guardian MUST complete at least 4 hours of service for the BASBC, per student, during both their student’s Junior and Senior years. These hours must be for a BASBC Concession Stand (MS & HS Football, MS & HS Volleyball, MS & HS Basketball, and all home Track Meets) or any other BASBC sanctioned event.

 4. Students must complete a total of 6 hours of service for both their Junior and Senior years. All 6 hours for each year may be completed in the FALL semester, but at least 4 hours MUST be completed during the FALL semester. The remaining hours, maximum of 2, must be completed during the SPRING semester. Seniors must have these hours completed before the scholarship application deadline (2nd Friday of April). These hours must be for a BASBC Concession Stand (MS & HS Football, MS & HS Volleyball, MS & HS Basketball, and all home Track Meets) or any other BASBC sanctioned event.

5.  It is the Student’s/Parent’s responsibility to sign in and sign out to document service hours. Other people may NOT sign you in or out.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship Opportunity

Criteria:

  • Be a graduating high school senior
  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States
  • Show leadership potential
  • Demonstrate a dedication to community service
  • Present evidence of financial need
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Have a minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21

Capital Farm Credit Scholarship

Criteria:

  • Ten $1,000 one-time scholarships to be awarded to students pursuing a degree in an agricultural or natural resources related field of study. Student must reside in one of the following counties: Blanco, Burnet, Coleman, Gillespie, Kimble, Lampasas, Llano, Mason, Menard, McCulloch, Mills, San Saba. Capital Farm Credit supports rural communities and agriculture with reliable, consistent credit and financial services. And because a steady flow of credit means more jobs and economic growth, Capital Farm Credit is also helping invest in the vibrancy of communities throughout rural Texas through our scholarship program.
  •  Funds used to attend an accredited vocational or technical school, college or university full time.
  •  Applicants must be upcoming high school graduates, within school year applied.
  •  Applicant must demonstrate that they have a tentative educational plan and goals, related to fields in a. Agriculture or natural resources (may include ag communications, ag economics/business, ag education, ecosystem science & management, animal science, viticulture, etc.) b. Technical vocation supporting agriculture and rural communities and industries

Zonta Club of Fredericksburg Scholarship

Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a female resident of Gillespie County or of an adjoining county: Blanco, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, LLano, or Mason.
  • Applicant must be a high school senior or older who will be attending an accredited post high school educational institution (IE College, university, trade school, etc.) 
  • Scholarships are based in part on financial need.
  • Grade point average will be considered.
  • Consideration is given to whether the overall circumstances and plans of an applicant make achievement of her goals realistic.

Exotic Wildlife Association Scholarship

Criteria:

  1. The student does not have the means to attend college without financial assistance.
  2. The student must have been accepted in a Texas State College, University of Vocational Institution.
  3. Student must complete the Scholarship Application with brief resume attached including work history.
  4. Attach recent W-2’s or 1099’s for student, mother and father where applicable.
  5. Student is required to submit an application and a 250 to 500 word typed essay entitled “Why I Need & Deserve This Scholarship” to the EWA Scholarship Committee.
  6. Four letters of recommendation must be obtained from relationships other than family members.
  7. Attach a State of Texas Academic Achievement Report
  8. Based on the essays and qualifications students will be selected for interviews.  Interview dates and times will be sent to the counselors.
  9. A member or members of the EWA Scholarship Committee will interview candidates and make final selections.
  10. Scholarship recipients will be announced at graduation ceremonies if possible.
  11. A Thank You Note is required after scholarship is awarded. All notes should be sent to the EWA Board of Directors c/o the EWA Scholarship Committee, 231 Thompson Drive, Kerrville, TX 78028.
  12. Student must start school no later than the fall semester after being awarded the scholarship.
  13. Student must agree to be bound by these Guidelines and to meet all reporting requirements.

Blanco County 4 – H and FFA Youth Council – Scholarship

Criteria:

  •  Be an active member, in good standing, of a Blanco Co. 4-H program and/or FFA program.
  •  Be a current year graduating senior.
  •  Score at least an 850 on the SAT or an 18 on the ACT (if required)
  •  Have participated in the Blanco County Youth Show.
  •  Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  •  Have three (3) attached letters of recommendation.
  •  Attach a copy of most current transcript.
  •  Attach a one-page autobiography explaining: a. Family background b. Highlights of awards and activities c. Future plans and goals
  •  Attach a copy of a letter of acceptance from the school of your choice.
  •  Have completed application and necessary paperwork turned in to the one of the following representatives by NO LATER THAN 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021; FFA Advisor, County Extension   Agent, or member of the Blanco County 4-H and FFA Youth Council Board; NO Exceptions.

The Austin Contractors and Engineers Association (ACEA) Scholarship

Criteria: 

  Applications can now be submitted online.

  •      Three scholarships will be awarded each year.
  •     Scholarships will only be awarded to those pursuing a career in civil engineering-related studies or construction/construction management.
  •      Trade and vocational schools are eligible.
  •      General scholarship is now awarding $2,000 per year, up to four years, as long as they maintain a 3.0 GPA and submit proof of enrollment and status each year.
  •     The Jim Brewer Memorial Scholarship will be awarded if they attend Texas A&M College Station and join the Corps. This scholarship recipient will get $3,000 per year, for up to four years, if maintain a      3.0 GPA and submit proof of enrollment and status each year.
  •     Each recipient receives a free association membership, free registration to our annual Symposium on construction & design, and if requested, will receive assistance in finding internship opportunities         in Central Texas.

While the number of potential scholarships has been decreased, each individual award as been extended and offers a path to employment at the end of their college classes. .

Criteria:

First Baptist Church, Blanco, Texas Senior Scholarship 

Criteria:

  • To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be high school students graduating at the end of the 2020-2021 school year and must follow the application procedures.

Blanco County Texas Farm Bureau Scholarship 

Criteria:

  • Applicant’s parents or guardian MUST have been a member of the Blanco County Farm Bureau for at least a year at the time of this application.

Blanco PTO Scholarship

Criteria:

Blanco 2020-2021 PTO will be offering 3 scholarships to be used for college or vocational school. To be eligible to receive a scholarship from Blanco PTO, the student must meet the following requirements. 

  •  Applicant must be a high school senior at Blanco High School and be eligible for graduation.
  •  Parent/Guardian(s) must be current members of Blanco PTO as of December 31, 2020.
  • The scholarship must be used for the purpose of study at an accredited college, university or vocational school.
  • Upon evidence of enrollment, the scholarship funds will be paid to the school where the recipient is enrolled.
  • Selection of scholarship recipient(s) will be determined by a committee appointed by the Blanco PTO Executive Board.
  • If any scholarship recipients do not accept their scholarships, the refused scholarship will be awarded to the next applicant on the ranked list.

Delventhal Law Scholarship

Criteria:

  • Must be a senior in high school or current college student planning to enter the law field.
  • $1000 One time award
  • Must be attending a 4 year college/university or 2 year community college for Fall 2021.

Criteria: 

  • Two (2) character reference letters. Be sure letters are signed and contain the name and address of the person providing each letter.

Criteria:

  • Must be accepted into an accredited college, university or technical college.
  • Application must be competed in full including a listing of all extra curricular activities, honors received, employment, community service and any other accomplishments during your high school years.

Blanco Methodist Church Scholarship

Criteria:

  • Must be a person who is active in his/her church.
  • Must be maintaining at least a 2.5 grade point average in educational pursuit.
  • Must be registering in a college, university, or accredited technical school.

Criteria:

  • Must be a direct line descendant of a veteran or active duty soldier (Birth Mother, Father, Grandparent, or Great Grandparent, etc.)
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or better

Criteria:

  • A one page personal statement expressing your aims and goals and why you should be considered for this scholarship.

Criteria:

  •  Applicant must show a proven record of community involvement

  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident with a permanent ID card.
