Week of May 11-17:
Catch up on any work you have missing in Google Classroom.

Complete this End-of-Year Survey as your final assignment.

SCHOOL INSTRUMENT DROP-OFF

All school-owned instruments MUST be returned on Monday, May 18 or Tuesday, May 19. Drop off instruments between 8am-12pm;1pm-3pm in the MIDDLE SCHOOL Band Hall. Mrs. Conard will be there to collect the instruments. You will not be allowed to enter the school building, so you must come around to the back of the school by the dumpsters. Make sure your name is on the instrument case.

I will be in touch when the fundraiser items arrive.

Thank you for a great year! Have a great summer!

Distance Learning expectations for 6th-8th grade band students:

  1. Try to complete 5 activities a week.  If that is too much, start with one and then try a few more the next week. At the end of the week, students may be asked to fill out a Google Form so Mrs. Conard can keep track of their progress.
  2. Practice! Set a goal of 20 minutes each practice session. Focus on tone development, technique (major/minor/chromatic scales), Spring concert band music, and next year’s region band music. Make Sightreading Factory part of your daily practice for 5 minutes.
  3. Record Flipgrid video assignments (music and scales).
  4. If you don’t have your instrument at home, then sharpen your music theory skills (note names, rhythms), listening skills (music in movies, etc.), or get creative (make your own instrument).

Hang in there! We’re all in this together and will get through this TOGETHER!
