New CDC Guidance

I want to give you an update on the new guidance that we received today from the Texas Education Agency regarding new CDC guidelines for quarantine periods.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) updated their Public Health Guidance based on the newest recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  The guidance is amended to allow two shorter option periods for the quarantine period.  Based on the new CDC guidance, the quarantine period can end for individuals experiencing no symptoms on Day 10 (previously - it was day 14) after close contact exposure without testing, and, on Day 7 after close contact exposure after receiving a negative test.  The negative test has to be taken after 5 days of exposure.  A positive test will continue to be a 10-day quarantine after the onset of symptoms.

We will use this guidance going forward.
