To the Parents and Guardians of BISD Students,
As we continue educating the students in BISD, I want to thank you for your help in making our return to the classroom a success on many levels. However, after reviewing the data from our first six weeks of school, a large majority of our remote learners are not being successful and the added burden placed on our teachers is unsustainable. This data supports the overwhelming consensus that the most successful environment to educate students is in a face-to-face setting. As such, BISD must adapt and change in order to provide the best educational experience for our students.
Currently, 90% of our students are in-person learners. Our safety protocols have been instrumental in helping our students and staff stay healthy. Due to the outstanding work of our teachers and staff, and thanks to your cooperation with screening protocols, BISD has had one incident related to COVID-19 among staff and students.
In an effort to avoid continued academic regression, the District will transition back to 100% in-person learning. The last day of remote learning will be Friday, October 16th. All students enrolled in Blanco ISD must begin attending on campus instruction on Monday, October 19th.
We believe this decision is in the best interest of the students and staff of Blanco !SD. We also understand that there will be some who do not agree with this decision. We respect your right to do so. Here are some other options if you do not believe it is in your child's best interest to return to face-to-face instruction on October 19th:
- Withdraw your child to engage in Homeschool education
- Request transfer status from any other public school or TEA accredited charter school who accepts online transfers
- Enroll your child in an online school operated by the Texas Virtual School Network
Our staff fully understands that student health remains a concern for many families. Therefore, exceptions may be made for students with serious existing health conditions. If this is the case for your child, please reach out to the campus administration for a review of your situation.
BISD remains committed to meeting the instructional needs and ensuring the academic success of all students. If a student tests positive or has to self-isolate for COVID-19, the district will offer remote instructional support for the duration of the illness/isolation. We will continue to adhere to CDC/TEA public health guidance.
The Blanco ISD is committed to the success of our students and staff and looks forward to the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.

Mientras continuamos educando a los estudiantes de BISD,
quiero agradecerles por su ayuda para que nuestro regreso al sa16n de clases sea un exito. Sin embargo, despues de revisar los datos de nuestras primeras seis semanas de clases, una gran mayorfa de nuestros estudiantes aprendiendo virtualmente no estan teniendo exito y la carga adicional sobre nuestros maestros es insostenible. Estos nuevos datos apoyan el coseno de que el ambiente de mayor exito para educar a los estudiantes es en persona. Como tal, BISD debe adaptarse y cambiar para brindar la mejor experiencia educativa para nuestros estudiantes.
Actualmente, el 90% de nuestros estudiantes estan recibiendo instrucci6n en persona . Nuestros protocolos de seguridad han sido fundamentales para ayudar a que nuestros estudiantes y personal sigan saludables. Debido al trabajo sobresaliente de nuestros maestros, personal, y gracias a su cooperaci6n con los protocolos de evaluaci6n, BISD ha tenido pocos incidentes relacionados con COVID-19 entre el personal y los estudiantes.
En un esfuerzo para evitar la regresi6n academica, el Distrito solo ofrecera aprendizaje en persona para todos los estudiantes. El ultimo dia de aprendizaje por distancia sera el viernes, 16 de octubre. Todos los estudiantes inscritos en Blanco ISD deben comenzar a asistir a la escuela para recibir instruccion el lunes 19 de octubre.
Creemos que esta decisi6n es en el mejor interes de los estudiantes y el personal de Blanco ISD. Tambien entendemos que hay algunos que no estan de acuerdo con esta decisi6n y respetamos su opini6n. Aqul estan otras opciones si usted cree que regresar el 19 de octubre no sea la mejor opci6n para su hijo/a:
• Retirar a su hijo/a para participar en la educaci6n de Homeschool
• Solicitar transferencia a cualquier otra escuela publica o a una escuela acreditada por TEA que acepta transferencias en linea
• inscribir a su hijola a una escuela en linea operado por El Texas Virtual School Network
Nuestro personal entiende perfectamente que la salud de los estudiantes sigue siendo una preocupaci6n para muchas familias. Por lo tanto, se pueden hacer excepciones para estudiantes con problemas de grave salud. Si este es el caso de su hijo/a, comunfquese con el director/a de la escuela para una revision de su situacion.
BISD se compromete a satisfacer las necesidades de instrucci6n y asegurar el exito academico de todos los estudiantes.Si un estudiante da positivo o requiere aislamiento por causa de COVID-19, el distrito ofrecera instrucci6n a distancia por la duraci6n de la enfermedad. Nosotros continuaremos las recomendaciones del CDC/TEA .
Blanco ISD y la Mesa Directiva estan comprometidos al exito de nuestros estudiantes y personal y esperamos con ansiedad el resto del affo escolar 2020-21.
