Blanco ISD Graduation Requirements
In June 2013 the 83rd Texas legislature passed HB 5 which made sweeping changes to Texas graduation requirements. Blanco ISD implemented these new graduation plans during our 2014-2015 school year and has continued these plans during the subsequent school years.

Endorsements
Foundation Program with an Endorsement
Students entering Grade 9 shall enroll in the courses necessary to complete the curriculum requirements for the Foundation High School Program (FHSP) and the curriculum requirements for at least one endorsement.

An endorsement is a broad area of study that a high school student chooses in addition to the (FHSP) curriculum requirements.
Blanco ISD will provide students the opportunity to choose any of the 5 endorsements listed in House Bill 5.

BUSINESS/INDUSTRY
Agriculture Technology or Leadership
PUBLIC SERVICES
Family & Community Services
ARTS/HUMANITIES
Four levels of Spanish or Band
MULTIDISCIPLINARY STUDIES
Select courses from the curriculum of each of the other endorsement areas; Credits in a variety of advanced courses from multiple content areas.
